PROJECT MITCHELL

TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED HANGER, WORKSHOPS AND OFFICE ACCOMMODATION FOR ROLLS ROYCE

LOCATION: CASTLE DONNINGTON

PROJECT VALUE: £327,602.00

DURATION: DESIGN PERIOD 3 MONTHS, ONSITE 3 MONTHS

The objective of the project was to design and build a HVAC system for Rolls Royce at East Midlands Airport, which was to be used for both workshops and offices. GAC sought to develop HVAC systems that improved both the offices and hangar’s energy efficiency through the integration of different HVAC services to help reduce the building’s environmental impact and reduce running costs in the long run. One such solution was to install a Hydro box hot water system and connect to the office VRV air conditioning system. This allowed redundant heat from the air conditioning system to heat up the hot water giving the hot water system a SCOP efficiency in excess of 5.5
